Who we are

AI Detector ("we," "us," or "our") provides a mobile app that analyzes photos, videos, and links to help you understand whether content may be AI-generated or manipulated. This policy describes how we handle information when you use the AI Detector app and related services at useaidetector.com.

Information we collect

Content you submit for analysis

• Images, videos, and links (URLs) you share, paste, or upload for AI detection
• Related metadata such as source URL, title, duration, file type, and detection results (scores, labels, explanations)

Submitted media is processed on our servers and sent to third-party AI detection providers to produce results. We do not use your content to train our own models.

Account information

• Email address and authentication identifiers when you sign up or sign in (email/password, Apple Sign-In, or Google Sign-In)
• Account creation and sign-in timestamps

Subscription and usage data

• Subscription status, plan tier, and remaining scan credits ("checks")
• Purchase and billing events processed through Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat
• Records needed to prevent duplicate billing events and enforce usage limits

Product and onboarding preferences

• Optional onboarding answers (for example, how you use the app and what you are concerned about)
• App settings such as appearance preference and optional "AI or Not" challenge stats (stored on your device)

Device, diagnostic, and analytics data

• App version, platform, and basic usage events (for example, scans started or completed, paywall views, sign-in method)
• Crash reports and error diagnostics via Sentry
• Advertising measurement events via Meta (Facebook) App Events and, for purchases, server-side Conversions API
• On iOS, we may request App Tracking Transparency permission for ad measurement

We do not sell your personal information or submitted media.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Run AI detection and return results
• Authenticate you and manage your account
• Provide subscriptions, credits, and billing support
• Show recent scans on your device and improve reliability
• Prevent abuse, fraud, and duplicate charges
• Measure product performance and marketing effectiveness
• Fix bugs and maintain security

Where data is stored

• Recent scan history (URL, result, preview): stored on your device only, until you clear history or delete your account.
• Submitted media files: stored on our servers temporarily during analysis, then deleted after processing (unless debug mode is enabled on our side).
• Short-lived scan cache (results, not media): stored in our database and expires automatically (typically within minutes).
• Account, billing cache, credits, onboarding answers: stored in Supabase until account deletion or as described below.
• Billing webhook audit logs: may be retained after account deletion with user identifiers removed.
• Analytics and crash data: retained by Meta and Sentry according to their policies.

Third-party services

We use service providers that process data on our behalf, including:

• Supabase — authentication and account data
• RevenueCat — subscription management
• Apple / Google — sign-in and in-app purchases
• Hive and Sightengine — AI and deepfake detection on submitted media
• Meta (Facebook) — app analytics and purchase measurement
• Sentry — error monitoring

Each provider has its own privacy policy. Media sent for detection is also subject to those providers' terms and retention practices.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing. You can:

• Clear scan history in the app (History tab → Clear)
• Delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account)
• Request deletion of your data through our Data Deletion page
• Manage subscriptions through Apple or Google account settings
• Limit tracking on iOS via system privacy settings when prompted

Children

AI Detector is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International transfers

We and our providers may process data in countries other than yours. We take steps appropriate to protect information when it is transferred internationally.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with an updated "Last updated" date.
